It’s that time of year again, the nights draw in, the temperature drops, and slowly but surely the halls are well and truly decked. But before the overwhelming festivities begin, there’s Black Friday, which can only mean one thing…shopping!
PLAN YOUR ATTACK
You’ll have certain retailers in mind before you start shopping, but it’s also a good idea to do your research and find out where the best deals are. It is often the case that ‘sneak peeks’ will pop up a few days in advance, hinting at what bargains might be in store…and online! That way, when Friday comes around you can follow a direct route straight to your wish list of favourite products. And although it seems a little early to be singing Jingle Bells, Black Friday is a great opportunity to bag some Christmas bargains for everyone from Aunty Pat to Dave down the road. After all, there are only six weeks to go!
As Black Fridays gone by have taught us, you don’t have to wait in anticipation of 9am until the magic starts. Internet bargains may show at the strike of midnight on the day, so mouses at the ready and start filling up those virtual baskets before your fellow shoppers are even out of bed. It’s easy to get carried away when you see those big red price cuts, so keep the coffee close by and try not to spend too much time in front of a screen.
BUDGET FOR BARGAINS
We have all fallen fool for a bargain at some point or another, and it might seem like the perfect time to dust off those unused credit cards and wait with baited breath as the bargains ensue. But be careful when it comes to overspending, try to budget ahead of sales starting and make a list of what you want to buy. Just because something might be heavily discounted it might not be within your realms of spending. Equally, that’s not to say that something might not catch your eye which you originally hadn’t planned to purchase, so make a little room for those spontaneous steals.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past ten years, you’ll know that ‘Social Media’ is very much a thing. From Facebook to Instagram and all the tweets in between, retailers are sure to have all their bases covered in the run up to Black Friday, so go forth and follow! Like pages and sign up for notifications in advance so you’re the first to know of any price slashes, then sit back and watch the reductions roll in!
MISS THE MADNESS
Thanks to the internet, you can now shop from the comfort of your couch. If you’re in reach of a computer, tablet or mobile, you can access plenty of Black Friday deals without lifting a finger – well, unless you’re clicking to buy that is! It’s best to land on the page you want to browse ahead of time, so when the deals start you can checkout swiftly and grab a bargain before the hot stock sells out!
