If you’re on the lookout for a new set of wheels to get out in the open air, you’re in luck! We’ve been hard at work updating our best-selling range of Apollo and Carrera men’s bikes, just in time for those Christmas wish lists.

In this post we’re going to take a look at some of our faves and discover what makes them stand out from the competition.

For the adrenaline seeker

If you like to hit the trails hard and come home covered in mud with a big grin on your face, a mountain bike will be right up your street. The Apollo Gradient is ideal for those new to the sport, with full suspension and 21 speed Shimano gears that’ll let you tackle those trails with added comfort and confidence. You’ll also get perfectly controlled stopping power from the disc brakes if you overcook a bend!

If you feel like taking it up a notch, look no further than the Carrera Vengeance. It’s been our best-selling bike for quite a while now, and for good reason. Rough trails are easily conquered thanks to the front suspension fork with 100mm of travel, which is also weight adjustable for controlled performance. 24 speed Shimano Altus gears enable you to tackle those leg burning inclines with ease, and the mechanical disc brakes produce show-stopping braking power.

For the all-purpose rider

For those who want a do-anything, go anywhere bike, a hybrid is often the perfect answer. With tyres that roll easily on both the road and light trails, a hybrid bike is ideal for leisurely rides with the family, getting (and staying!) fit, and commuting to work.

The Apollo Belmont makes for a great commuting machine as it brings together excitement and practicality. The lightweight aluminium frame and 18 speed Shimano gears take the effort out of riding and the 700c wheels roll easily on the road. The Apollo Belmont comes with the added benefit of mudguards and a rear pannier rack for storing your essentials.

For fast riding around town, the Carrera Subway 1 is our urban performance model. 24 speed gears help to minimise your effort on all terrains, and the rigid steel fork helps with controlled steering and stability. High tread tyres and reliable disc brakes make this a great bike for tackling the urban environment with speed and comfort.

For multi-terrain riding, take a look at the Carrera Crossfire 2. This is a confidence-inspiring bike that features mechanical disc brakes for controlled stopping and 24 speed gears, making the transition between climbs, flats and descents easier. The adjustable front suspension fork and large diameter wheels easily absorb any impact you might encounter on your ride. Our best selling Carrera hybrid just got better.

For the road warriors

For fitness, fun, and fast-paced commuting, the road bike can’t be beaten. Skinny tyres and drop handlebars help you to pick up speed and take the stress out of cycling up hills.

For first time road riders, the Carrera Zelos is fast, strong, and light, resulting in less effort and more reward. Its hi-tensile steel fork and 25c tyres help to soften the buzz and vibration of the road, giving you a comfier ride. 14 speed Shimano Tourney gears offer plenty of scope for tackling all sorts of inclines, and it’s topped off with dual pivot calliper brakes for reliable stopping power.

A carbon bladed fork softens the vibration of the road, 16 speed Shimano Claris gears provide efficient shifting, and the mechanical disc brakes provide excellent stopping power in all weather conditions.
