Earlier this year we were lucky to announce a collaboration with Orla Kiely, featuring iconic designs on an exclusive range of camping and cycling equipment.
Safe to say the frenzy we had anticipated prior to launch was fulfilled, with trolleys both in-store and virtually filled to the brim with exciting new goodies from one of Britain’s favourite fashion icons.
The Kiely name is inimitably sixties, yet modern in style, and she certainly showcased this last week in the Big Apple, with a presentation at New York Fashion Week.
There was no mistaking the flurry of gorgeous models, head to toe in Orla Kiely. The SS17 preview showcased a marriage of delicate embroidery with sixties-smock cuts. Think Austin powers meets Little House on the Prairie (now there’s one film set we would love to stumble upon!), immaculately finished down to every little detail. Peter pan collars complimented perfectly the broderie anglaise shifts, with dainty gold chains adorning next season’s leather and suede lux bags.
Perhaps it’s the way Orla presents her style with such an effortless flair, but with the same nonchalance there’s not a frill flattened or pleat out of place.
She brought the same attention to detail when creating her range for Halfords, taking inspiration from the sixties and capturing the essence of nature with a modern, stylish edge. You’ll find four bike models, each blessed with their own unique design, and premium finishing touches in the form of a leather saddle and handlebars.
Take inspiration from the Fashion Week models and go head to toe Orla with everything from matching helmets to a choice of water bottles in three charming prints – who knew keeping hydrated could look so cute!
If you prefer leisure off the bike rather than on it, look no further than our fashion-forward set of camping equipment and accessories to get your fix. The #oliveandorange designs decorate everything you need for a cosy night under the stars, take a look at the full range here.
Fashion week comes to London at the end of this week, check back to see what our great British designers are showing for Summer 2017!
