We’ve always had a close connection to Boardman Bikes, ever since they first started out in 2007. Since then, they’ve created consistently great bikes that have been really popular with you – real cyclists. The Boardman fans out there may have heard that there’s something new on the horizon, and we’re so excited that we don’t want to wait any longer! Read on to find out what they’ve got planned.
A shared passion
In his racing days, Chris Boardman’s nickname was ‘The Professor’ as a result of his attention to detail in his training and his technical know-how. After his retirement from professional cycling, he also worked as technical advisor and technical and equipment manager for TeamGB.
But that’s not all – as well as his involvement in making the most technically advanced bikes for the highest levels of racing, Chris has worked tirelessly to improve infrastructure for cyclists in the UK, paying attention to ‘real world’ riders. He still shares his passion for cycling in the detailed commentary he now provides for the biggest cycle events across the globe.
Attention to detail
Boardman Bikes have always been proud of their meticulous design. Each model is made to be the best suited to the kind of riding it’s designed for, with the highest technical specification. Whether that means a Road Team Carbon for clocking up the miles efficiently and comfortably, a Hybrid Comp for the rigours of the daily commute, or a Pro Hardtail 29er for all-day epics around the local trails, every bike gets the attention to detail that only Boardman can provide.
Keeping it real
As well as attention to detail, Boardman and his bikes are famous for being up to date with the latest trends in cycling. This means staying in touch with cyclists out in the real world, looking at what real people are using their bikes for and, most importantly, going out and riding bikes!
For the new range of Boardman Bikes, the Boardman team have focused on one thing: making bikes that they really want to ride!
Out there with you
The team put in hundreds of miles, hours, and laps of riding to develop the new Boardman range. From putting new developments in drivetrains and brakes through their paces to endless testing of tyres and handlebars, they worked to discover which components work best in the real world, and let the rider (whether it’s you or them!) perform at their best.
Of course, riding a bike isn’t just about efficiency and performance, and this real world testing also meant that the team got a chance to really look at the bikes out on the road, the trail and the path. The whole appearance of the range was changed. After all, nothing makes you want to go out for a ride like a great looking bike!
That’s all we can say for now, but we think you’re going to love the new Boardman Performance range just as much as we do.
